Automobile club is a place for proud owners of automobiles, where they can together feel the uniqueness of oneness among each other. I am owner of Hyundai and I still remember the day I bought the car. The day was quite hectic for me running from door to door fulfilling all the obligations in buying procedure, and still one or the other paper would be lacking. Finally when I brought the car home it was a proud moment for me. Though the car never gave me any trouble but still I felt there was several things I did not know about the car and I really felt very inconvenient about it. It was 22nd June 2003, I was going to my friend’s place and in-between I had to stop at the signal, but when again I tried to start it, I could not. It was very awkward situation for me, and finally after a trial people had to push it at the side of the road. I took a cab and reached my friend’s place. Later it was found there was a very minor fault in the car and I could have rectified it on my own then my friend suggested me there is one automobile club near her house and if want I can too become its member.
On my questioning, she told me about the uniqueness’ of this automobile club. This club is located at the southern most end of the town and has more than 5000 members belonging to various strata of the society. The building of the automobile club itself appears as revealing the purpose for which it is built. Its interiors give the feeling of a pride and self esteem.
Every week there is a meeting in the automobile club where the owners of their respective automobiles get together and discuss the problems that they might be facing regarding their vehicle. Whether it is their engine problem, or brake failure, start problem or any other technical or non-technical failure is discussed here and try to come out with alternate solutions.
Automobile club also invites expert of one or other automobile to lecture on its various features and give the guidelines on the ways it should be maintained.
Inside the Automobile club there is also a big library where to my amazement there are several books on automobiles and any member can avail of it. Moreover, this particular Automobile club also organizes competition every year where members display their automobiles and looking at various specifications, the one, which is in a very good working condition, has beautiful looks and gives good mileage would get a prize. The prize could be either a free ticket or offer of one free service of an automobile. Not only this, Automobile club also organizes tours and various other events for enjoyment of its members.
Mr. Ronald Williams is a brain behind this automobile club who is a businessman and runs automobile business at New Jersey. He started it in the year 1963 with only ten members on the roll, slowly and slowly its popularity grew when he posed before the people various advantages of joining the club. I may suggest that every city should have at-least one automobile club.
