Besides, not every hero can fly like Superman or swing around like Spiderman. That's precisely why cars are as necessary as their costumes. Without it, these heroes lack a certain flourish. There's something quite wrong in the picture when you have the Knight Rider without his loyal KITT.
Here are some of the most popular television and film cars ever shown to mankind:
1. KITT. This smart vehicle could talk and fought just as well as Knight Rider. Intelligent, practically impossible to burn and incredibly sassy, this popular car easily upstaged its human counterpart in some episodes. In fact, to most fans of the series, it's the car and its many gadgets and incredible abilities that really made the show memorable.
2. The Time Machine of Back to the Future. Though actually a 1981 De Lorean, few people remember the make or the model of this car. What everyone remembers is the cool time travelling component of this automobile, especially the flux capacitor “fluxing” and the need for the power of lighting to recharge it (in the first movie). Three movies ensured that this car remains in the memories of its fans forever.
3. Batmobile. There are more than a few models of the Batmobile known to viewers, from the television version (starring Adam West and Burt Ward) to the various films that had one successful actor after another playing the titular hero. Whatever the film or whoever the star, it's still the same old sleek and sexy car that steals the show.
4. Herbie the Lovebug. Everybody knows this little fella! Cute and a bit more kid-friendly than the other famous cars, this 1963 Volkswagen Beetle may be old and out of style, but it sure remains a favorite. The recent remake by Lindsay Lohan made this old friend hot once again.
5. Viper. A bit like the Knight Rider, this show also features a really hot and talented car: a Dodge Viper. Only it's not really an ordinary Dodge Viper, but an attack vehicle pretending to be one. Though much less popular when compare to KITT, this Viper was also equipped with all the gadgets and technologies imaginable.
6. Christine. Based on the Stephen King novel, this movie car is one of the most frightening ever. Possessed? Maybe not. The novel describes the car as something “born” and “alive”. It's got it's own mind. Chilling.
These are just some of the wonderful celluloid cars. Though none of them exist in exactly the same way in reality, they're still fun and occasionally good to reminisce. With remakes popping up one day after another, other classic cars will soon be cool again.
