cars in mexicoWhen we refer to the automobile marketing and its evolution, the name of Mexico automatically comes in. First ever automobiles to make their way into the cities of Mexico were 136 in 1903 that rose to 800 after three years. This motivated President Porfirio Diaz (1984-1910) to form first highway code in the country permitting cars to run at a maximum speed of 10 km/hr on crowded and small streets and 40 km/h on the other streets.
In 1961, when the Mexican economy was at its decline, many carmakers had already started their operations. But due to taxes, cars in Mexico did now see the light of the day but as the economy recovered in 90’s, Mexico again began to see car-manufacturing industries booming and cars in Mexico began increasing their presence among the Mexican car lovers. With this, the sales of cars in Mexico crossed 1 billion-mark in 2005.

As the time passed, cars in Mexico began to run with alternative fuels like Honda Civic Hybrid and Volkswagen Jetta TDI. In 2008, there would also be first-ever Mexican fully designed and engineered serial produced car, the Mastretta MXT. It’s a sports car and built in same way as that of English noble cars. Up-to day there are 42 official makers coming with 400 different models giving cars in Mexico a fresh and new perspective to create among the car lovers a sense of belonging and a royal feeling.

Auto expo too was a beginning to whole new concept of giving new shape towards the marketing and sales to the satisfaction of car lovers. Among all the cars in Mexico, Chevrolet Chevy is the one to make a space in the heart of the Mexicans.   

General Motors used the concept of supermini with a price tag for Mexican consumers that gave excellent results. The Chevy came as a replacement for Beetle as the best selling cars in Mexico and with a reasonable price. For those who wanted a car big enough with capacity of more passengers, Chevrolet brought for them Monza, a saloon version of the Chevy and with a same price. This is a unique representative and best among the other cars in Mexico.

Mexicans also loved to buy Nissan Sentra that arrived under the name Tsuru. It was the car for the next generation affordable and comfortable. Tsuru became a good rival of Chevrolet Chevy. Very soon it crossed Chevy and Sedan, and became most popular among all car lovers between the years 1998 to 2005. The Nissan Pletina entered into the world of cars of Mexico as its next successor in row but could not cross Tsuru.

Tsuru also began to be used as a cab on the roads of Mexico preferably being used to ply between airport and hotels. Among all the cars in Mexico, Mk111 came as one among the longest running sold cars in the country; running since last 14 years. The others cars that made their presence felt among cars in Mexico are Volkswagen Pointer, Volkswagen Jetta, and Volkswagen Sedan making their mark among the Mexican car lovers.
