Nissan was born in Japan and famous for devising automobiles with enhancing titling and functioning. Previously Nissan commercialized its automobiles with the Datsun brand. In 1928, Yoshisuke Aikawa founded Japan Industries or Nippon Sangyo hence the name Nissan was introduced as an abbreviation in 1930. Nissan finally developed with 74 business firms and fourth-largest company in Japan during World War II.
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. is Japan’s second largest automobile producing after Toyota and leading Honda. Nissan has improved significantly in the past few years in the filed of automobile industry. Nissan manufactures automobile ranging from cars, sports car with two doors, trucks, and closed litter for one passenger, minivans and sport utility vehicle.
In 1981 Nissan started to sell automobiles using its own name. The first car manufactured and sold by Nissan Motors was the Nissan Bluebird. It was sold in 1982 and is famous in the U.S with the name of Nissan Stanza. Nissan established its first U.S. plant in Smyrna, Tennessee in 1980s where it manufactured sport utility vehicle and trucks. Afterwards Nissan Motors produces automobiles called Altima.
In 1999 a French automobile manufacturer Renault held 37% interest in Nissan and established president and CEO Carlos Ghosn that generated profit for the company. Nissan is constantly working hard to improve its products. As a result he is having 47% the Nissan automobiles. The first product of Nissan-Renault confederation was the Nissan Primera, launched in 2001.
During 1993-2002 Nissan Act as a partner with Ford to bring Mercury Villager and Nissan Quest minivans to the automobile market. In 2002 Ford quitted their Mercury minivan but Nissan continued manufacturing. In 1992 Nissan launched four-wheel drive automobile that was similar to Ford Maverick in Spain. In 1966, Nissan united with Prince Motor Company and designed Skyline and Gloria for consumers with high incomes. Infiniti, a luxury car was introduced by Nissan in 1900s for US automobile industry.
Nissan VQ engines for automobiles have been ranked among Ward's 10 Best Engines for successive 14 years. Nissans headquarters are located in Ginza, Tokyo but it plans to shift the headquarters to Yokohama, Kanagawa in 2010. Nissan has been highly demanded after establishing it s own plant in Europe and target to produce 40,000 per year vehicles from 2007 onwards. Nissan is also manufacturing cars at its own factory at Roslyn, near Pretoria, South Africa. An association of companies consisting of comprising Indian automobiles major Mahindra and Mahindra, Renault (France) and Nissan (Japan) will begin from Rs4000 crore for manufacture of 50,000 tractors. This deal will expand Tamil Nadu’s output to Rs18, 000 crore per year.
Nissan Motor is now getting involved with other companies in manufacture of hybrid automobiles. It had a number of adventures other than the automobile manufacturing such as Tu-Ka mobile phone service. Nissan also own its Nissan marine. The Japanese automobile designs have appreciated and liked all over the world. Nissan is still working to launch new models of vehicles into the automobile industry.
